On May 11, Zonsen New Generation Vehicle Continuously Variable Transmission Project and Zonsen Xingye Polymer Material Lightweight Application Project officially signed a contract to settle in Banan District. Both projects are strategic emerging industry projects with a total investment of 1.8 billion yuan and are expected to reach production in 2022. Its vehicle continuously variable transmission project will break the foreign technology monopoly and effectively fill a gap in the domestic automotive gearbox field.

The old brand has a new face. The two projects signed are two important projects of Zonsen, a traditional "time-honored" enterprise, which has set foot in the field of new energy in the process of transformation and upgrading. Zonsen's new generation vehicle continuously variable transmission project has a total investment of 1 billion yuan, mainly focusing on the research and development, production, sales and service of automatic transmissions and parts (including continuously variable transmissions). Zonsen Xingye's lightweight polymer material application project has a total investment of 1.8 billion billion yuan. It mainly carries out research and development on the application of national cutting-edge polymer materials such as polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) and polyarylene sulfide sulfone (PASS), providing high temperature resistant and corrosion resistant lightweight accessories for new energy vehicles and aerospace.

Investment and construction in two phases. Both projects are invested and constructed in two phases, with the first phase taking the lease of Zonsen's existing plant for research and development and production, which is expected to reach production in 2022. At that time, the first phase of Zonsen's new generation vehicle continuously variable transmission project will have an annual output of 200000 transmissions, with an output value of 0.85 billion yuan, a profit of 140.45 million yuan, a tax of 82.59 million yuan and an employment of 370 people. The first phase of Zonsen Xingye's lightweight application project for polymer materials is expected to achieve an annual operating income (including tax) of 1 billion yuan, an annual tax payment of 74.47 million yuan, and provide 600 jobs.

Strategic emerging industries. It is worth mentioning that the two projects signed this time are strategic emerging industry projects with high knowledge and technology intensity, low consumption of material resources, large growth potential and good comprehensive benefits. Among them, the new generation vehicle continuously variable transmission (CVT) project adopts 6 invention patents of Cheng Naishi, a professor of Northeastern University and a distinguished professor of Chongqing University of Technology. It abandons the traditional hydraulic method and uses a new pressure and speed regulation method to achieve comprehensive working conditions. Compared with manual transmission, it can save energy by more than 15%, and is more suitable for economical and energy-saving vehicles and new energy vehicles. At the same time, the project has all independent intellectual property rights, and the localization of parts is more than 98%, breaking the long-term monopoly of transmission technology by foreign countries, and effectively promoting Banan and even the city's automobile industry cluster to become bigger and stronger.
